Le Mans is undoubtedly 'THE' magic word synonymous with motorsport, with the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans leading the way! There are three motorsport circuits in Le Mans: - The first is the 24 Hours circuit, also called the Circuit de la Sarthe, located south of Le Mans city. It is a non-permanent racing circuit with a track length of 13.629 km. It is one of the longest motorsport circuits in the world. Its unique feature is the use of a road section that is open to public traffic for the rest of the year, as the circuit is only used about ten days per year (for testing or competition). The most famous sections are the Tertre Rouge, Mulsanne, Indianapolis and Arnage corners, and the famous Hunaudières straight. Over the years, the circuit configuration has evolved, primarily for safety reasons, an essential concern of the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) which manages the event excellently. (Wikipedia)
