About the circuit
View circuit pageBuilt in the early 1970s without any subsidies by Mr. and Mrs. Bondurand - a passionate couple, the Lédenon circuit is located on a plateau in the Rhône Valley, 15 km north of Nîmes, 30 km from Avignon and about 150 km from Marseille. It was the first circuit in France - followed by La Ferté-Gaucher and Chambley - to run counter-clockwise! A hilly and winding circuit (it was built on the site of a vast motocross terrain), the Lédenon circuit is very technical and therefore logically requires precise and refined driving skills. Native of Avignon, the following phrase is attributed to champion Jean Alesi: 'When you know how to drive at Lédenon, you know how to drive anywhere'. You just need to exit the pits to tackle the spectacular 'Triple Left' then the formidable 'Bridge Corner' to have no doubt in less than 800 meters! (Wikipedia)
